verrry odd...at first i thought it was bricks...not bread!!! i do feel sad from this picture though, because it obviously looks like she needs someone to buy the bread, so she can make money or something... for all we know she is a bread baker and gives them out to the homeless...all in all this picture has a sad tone to it.
Well maybe the lady is poor and the bread in the baby carriage was given to her as a gift so that she can survive. Or the bread just might be the product that she has to sell in order to make earnings to survive.
Good ideas. I had not thought of the market components, that she might indeed be taking the bread to market to sell. Then again, why on eartj would the bread simply be for her family's consumption? So you must both be right.
When i look at this picture it depresses me. I see a look of concern and worry on the womans face. I also believe that she might be selling the bread to try to help her survive, but then again if she knows how to make the bread dont wouldnt you think she can at least feed her family...but i guess you need money to buy the products to make the bread right???
this picture in a way makes me laugh:] i feel awful for saying that, i guess her facial expression does it for me.
it's just really random. though i do agree with sarah bowe this picture does have a sad tone. it does make you appreciate a lot in life, and not take bread for granted.
She is very hungry. Oh well, we're not going for brilliant here. Maybe she has a big family and can only give them bread. Maybe she really likes the carriage. Maybe the mortgage crisis has claimed another victim. Or maybe she just likes bread.
I'm going to nominate her for the television show "What not to Wear" on TLC. They should be able to give her some great fashion advice and money for a new wardrobe. The catch is... she has to agree to accept the changes that are recommended by the host. She'll clean up well.
Being contempt in what we do. I relate to her. Growing up, my parent’s best friends had six girls they had to raise, he worked three jobs and when they were old enough he sent them out in the fields to work. Now, all but one is married they have their own family and living very normal lives. Once in a great while someone will come around and let us know how very fortunate we are to live in a world that we live in. It’s really all in the way we react to them. Empathy, sorrow, optimistic, or pessimistic, or will we not care and just walk the other way upset that she’s taking up space where she doesn’t belong. I’m glad there are people such as herself not only to humble me but to realize how much of a difference I could make in this life that I have and to return some good to this world.
Maybe she was shopping with her baby at the store and found that they were having a sale on bread. Maybe she thought I better buy as much bread as I can, while it is on sale. I actually think that the baby is in the carriage, it is just that there is so much bread that you can not see it. Maybe when she is putting the bread away, she will find here baby. Or you know how babies do not like the sun in their eyes when they are in the carriage, well maybe her mom bought the bread on sale and is using it for shade. That way your getting two birds with one stone.
I think it's actually after an earthquake, so this may be bread that she'll use to survive on for some time. Bread's tough for that though since it goes bad quickly. Hopefully she'll be able to sell it and buy something else to stay alive.
This picture is very depressing to me. It seems that she was in need of food and probably the cheapest thing she could afford were the loafs of bread. She did get a few to many, but maybe she has a ptretty big family. Over all it is sad knowing that people out there do go through situations like those.
Same with me, I was trying to look at something on both sides like we did today with the political article like how to get used to looking at situations from both perspectives.
It looks as if the woman made the bread and utilizes the carriage as transportation in order for her to go door to door to sell the bread. I admire her hard work, at least she's not stealing... That's my opinion.
It may seem odd to you guys but not to me, my family doesnt have a car so whenever we need water and cant get a ride my mom uses a stroller to carry the 5 gallon jug. I know its kind of weird but we have to do it.
shes probally really poor. i think she should auction off that carriage. it looks perty vintage and in mint condition, could make some money off of it. maybe buy some peanutbutter and jelly for all that bread?
Well, you can always tell a person by there shoes. So, with that said i would have to say that she just baked those breads from scratch. Now, she's trying to sell them. Everybody needs bread. I agree it has a sad tone, but it also has a real tone. This is life in a million words, and it sure got me.
I agree with bryan. This picture definitely has a sad tone, but most importantly, it has a real tone. It really opens your eyes and makes you think about how far people go in order to survive and feed their families.
so i want to leave you with some humor like robin...the first time i looked at this picture the girl reminded me of jamie lynn spears!just look at it and see!!
I believe she has children at home and grabs the old baby carriage, and instead of buying one or two she buys several loaves of bread to save her from having to come back and forth.
Yes, this picture is very odd. This picture reminds me the time period of depression or during the world wars. This picture captures the various aspects of despair, poverty, misery, depression and scarcity.
Well I believe that maybe the woman is selling bread to make some money like there are some ice cream sellers in the street. Where I live at the police is always confiscating the good away from vendors so this might be a disguise or maybe she had nothing to put the bread in and she had to deliver it. This picture doesn't seem sad to me although the woman does like kind or poor.
the picture is quite depressing, i wonder if the lady has one huge family and her only food source is bread. it kinda makes me feel like i take food variety for granted. it would definitely be unfortunate only being to eat bread all day everyday.
This picture is odd indeed. It seems as if this lady is going through monetary difficulties. Maybe shes pushing a baby carriage full of loaves of bread to feed her family and friends. To me the picture portrays how desperate one can get to try to make ends meet.
This reminds me of an essay about bread by Margaret Avery. Would you sacrifice yourself to let another live or would you want to stay alive and let the other die?
I agree with your theory that you mentioned a few days ago in class. She is dressed in rags, so she is obviously very poor and I believe she looted a bakery to provide for herself and her family. For this woman, desperate times call for desperate measures. -Danielle Simpson
its a sad pic...but if u think about it 4 a while...diz could be use as an example for the rest of the people (anyone and everyone)..that some one that is poor will do anyting to survive and that you could live and survive by doing decent jobs and not letting your self fall in depression and think that all the doors have been close for you and then do things that are not rite to get money or survive...it just takes "WILL" to do things...because if a human has 2 hands and 2 legs to work and move around everything is possible...you just gotta belive in your self..."NeVeR GiiVe uP"...for those of us who start from the bottom, just remembered work hard and one day we'll get to the Top and we'll have everything we always wanted...we just gotta workhard for it...
When looking at this picture, I just thought that she has a big family, maybe 3 or 4 children, or even more, are waiting for her to feed. I can see from the picture that this woman is a hard worker, but she can only make a little money. The country is poor, the people are poor, no matter how hard working they are. The baby carriage was just an old one that she was used to carry all of her babies. Now her kids don't need this carriage, but she doesn't want to throw it away. She can use it for other purpose.
the first thing i thought of, was this lady very smart for pushing the bread in a cart instead of carrying it all. but some reason just looking at it, just has an odd vibe to it. like if your happy looking at this, your not afer you've seen this.

OK, I was totally joking with my last comment. I read all the serious blogs and decided to lighten things up.

she is very hungry and loves to eat bread for every meal
